The Brighton Town Board is seeking applicants who will be 11th grade students (High school Juniors) in the upcoming Sept. 2017 school year to serve on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board as Volunteer Student Members.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board advises the Town on recreational programs for people of all ages. By serving as a member of this committee, the students will be provided with a valuable leadership experience and an opportunity to serve their community.  Student representation on this Board helps the Town not only serve the recreational needs of all the Town’s citizens, it also provides a voice for young people within the town of Brighton concerning their recreational needs.

The nine-member Board meets on the last Monday of each month at 4:30 p.m. The student’s 2-year term would begin Sept. 2017 and run through Sept. 2019.

Any Sept. 2017th 11th grade student in the Town of Brighton, who is interested in being interviewed for membership on the Parks and Recreation Board, should submit a letter of interest and resume by Wednesday June 28th to:  MaryAnn Hussar,  Assistant to the Town Supervisor- Town of Brighton, 2300 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618 or by email maryann.hussar@townofbrighton.org  or you can drop off your resume marked to Ms. Hussar’s attention to the Receptionist at Brighton Town Hall.
