Arts Council
About the Council
The first of its kind in Monroe County, The Town of Brighton Arts Council is a citizen advisory board that was formed in 1993. The Arts Council explores ideas and projects that enhance and promote culture and the arts within the Brighton community.

During its tenure, the Arts Council has increased citizen participation and drawn attention to the importance of arts in our daily lives. 

The Arts Council has promotes the Brighton Arts Festival, an annual event that showcases the work of Brighton's amateur and professional artists.

The Arts Council curates an ongoing exhibit at Brighton Town Hall showcasing the work of local artists.

Members
The Town Board appoints members of the Arts Council to represent artists from all disciplines, including:
  • Potters
  • Sculptors
  • Painters
  • Writers
  • Jewelers
  • Musicians
  • Photographers

Any Brighton resident who is interested in promoting the purposes and goals of this council is eligible for membership.
