Biography of William Moehle
William Moehle has served as the Attorney to the Town of Brighton since 1993. As such, Mr. Moehle is legal counsel to the Town Board and the Historic Preservation Commission. In that capacity, he is responsible for the drafting and review of all legislation adopted by the town board and for other legislative orders and resolutions adopted by the Town Board. In addition, Mr. Moehle is responsible for contract review, certain personnel issues, and a variety of other matters for the Town.
Mr. Moehle is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association, where he has served as chair of the Business Law Council and is a member of the Municipal Law Committee. He has spoken on municipal topics to the New York State Association of Towns Annual Meeting and is a frequent speaker at Bar Association and other seminars on municipal and business law issues. He is past-President of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on its Board of Directors. He is the President-elect of the Brighton Rotary and has also served on the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Association/Rochester chapter and has served other community organizations.
Mr. Moehle graduated, Cum Laude from Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts in 1976, with a B.A. in Political Economy. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1979, where he received the Jack L. Kroner Memorial Award. He has practiced law in the Rochester area since 1979 and was a partner in the Rochester law firm of Underberg & Kessler in Rochester prior to opening his office for the private practice of law in 1992.
