Marriage License

In planning your wedding don’t forget the marriage license. There is a 24-hour waiting period from the time the license is issued and a ceremony may be performed. Licenses are valid anywhere within New York State for 60 days. If either applicant is 16 or 17 years of age, he or she must present the written consent of both parents. If it is not a first marriage, the Decree of Divorce or death certificate must be presented to the clerk at the time of the license application.

Please call for an appointment.

The license fee is $40 and includes the issuance of a Certificate of Marriage Registration. A birth certificate (with a raised seal) along with a valid passport, driver's license, or other photo identification must be provided at the time of license issuance.
